At the launch event, Gui Xuefeng, Hardware Product Director of Ulit Technology Inc., gave a detailed introduction to the new magnesium alloy traffic lights and all-optical intersection solutions, attracting the attention of numerous guests, industry experts, and media reporters. A unveiling ceremony for the new generation of magnesium alloy traffic lights was also held at the launch event.

After the launch event, Dai Gao, the general manager of Ulit Technology Inc., was interviewed by several media outlets.
Ulit, with the goals of being safer, more environmentally friendly, more convenient, more energy-efficient and featuring intelligent IoT, took 760 days from project initiation to completion to create a series of magnesium alloy traffic lights.
At present, traditional traffic lights mostly use plastic housings. When exposed to complex external environments for a long time, they are prone to aging and damage and are not environmentally friendly. Ordinary metal installation accessories are also very easy to rust and have a very high risk of falling off, posing a great safety hazard.
Addressing industry pain points, Ulit's magnesium alloy series traffic lights feature a housing made of dedicated environmentally friendly magnesium alloy, which offers light weight, high strength, excellent shock resistance, corrosion resistance, electromagnetic shielding, recyclability, and little deformation under high and low temperatures. Adopts ultra-bright energy-efficient LED chips specifically designed for traffic, reducing overall power consumption by over 30% and ensuring a service life of up to 10 years.
To ensure safe installation and use of equipment, Ulit has developed a new-type integrated detachable hinge and locking structure design. When not locked, it prevents opening and falling off, and uses steady and corrosion-resistant stainless steel strips to reduce the risk of falling off. The magnesium alloy traffic lights also feature a plug-in visor design, making installation easier and faster and preventing falling off.
Magnesium alloy traffic lights also possesses PLC communication functions; support remote query of the operating status of the traffic lights; support proactively report faults such as traffic lights no work, the red light and the green light being on at the same time, LED light string damage, communication and so on; support brightness adjustment and can achieve 32-level brightness adjustment based on environmental sensor data, thereby meeting usage requirements such as not being dazzling at night.
The Ulit all-optical intersection solution starts to optimize from the underlying construction architecture, addressing the difficult issues in the construction of traditional signal control system :
- Traditional signal control systems mostly directly connect signal lights with control cables, which involve a large number of cables, complex wiring and high costs;
- It is difficult to locate faults, which is not conducive to maintenance;
- Low reliability and limited service life;
- The equipment at the front end of the intersection has not been effectively interconnected, and the complex lines also pose safety hazards;

The Ulit all-optical intersection solution transforms the traditional centralized signal control system into a distributed architecture. It adopts an optical bus architecture, replacing nearly fifty ordinary cables at traditional intersections with one photoelectric composite cable. The intersection light control information is transmitted through optical fibers, achieving highly reliable intersection signal control. It also supports the signal control priority mode. Under the premise of not affecting signal control, other front-end devices such as traffic camera, VMS signs and traffic detection can achieve communication interconnection on the same optical cable, simplifying the layout of communication lines at intersections and optimizing the network structure at intersections.
The architecture of the all-optical intersection solution is divided into two layers: the intelligent terminal cabinet and the aggregation cabinet. The intelligent terminal cabinet is hung on the traffic light pole or the traffic camera pole, and is equipped with a built-in light drive module, network module, power module and lightning protection module to achieve the connection and transmission of traffic lights and traffic camera signals. The aggregation cabinet makes use of the current signal control cabinets on the street, which are equipped with built-in network aggregation modules and host control modules for signal controller, thereby reducing construction costs.
According to Gui Xuefeng, the hardware product director of Ulit, the all-optical intersection solution has been implemented at multiple intersections in Chongqing's Yubei District, Nan 'an District and other areas, and the implementation effect has been unanimously recognized by relevant departments.
At the exhibition site, Ulit also showcased a series of core products based on IoT technology, including outdoor full-color traffic-specific LED display screens, self-adaptive coordinated traffic light controllers, multi-functional data routing boards (boxes), traffic light countdown timers, signal control IoT kits (IoT edge gateways, IoT tail end modules), and integrated highway safety warning equipment and so on.
